The Super Bowl halftime show has been the performance to watch every year, and the 2014 show is no different. It was recently announced that the Grammy award-winning pop singer Bruno Mars will be delivering the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show next February. The Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is one of the most acclaimed musical performances, with both crazed football fans and non-fans alike tuning in to watch. Beyonce’s performance in 2013 was wildly popular, and had more than 110.5 million viewers watching. Other past performances have included Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and the controversial performance with Janet Jackson. The Super Bowl game is set to take place on Sunday, February 2, 2014 in New Jersey at the MetLife Stadium.
Bruno Mars is 27 years old and has been nominated for 14 Grammys and has sold over 115 million singles. His single, “Just The Way You Are” won him a Grammy for best male pop vocal performance in 2010, and in 2011 his hit single “Grenade” got him 3 Grammy nominations. Mars started his musical career as a writer and producer for other music artists, but in the past three years has succeeded in making a name for himself in the music industry.
