The Directors Guild of America announced its nominees for its feature film awards today. Three of the picks are first time nominees, which include Captain Phillip’s Paul Greengrass, Gravity’s Alfonso Cuaron and 12 Years a Slave’s Steve McQueen. David O. The nominees in the television and commercials categories are set to be announced on Thursday, while the documentary nominees will be known on Monday. The winners will all be announced at the 66th Annual DGA Awards, which will take place on Saturday, January 25th. Jane Lynch is set to host the award show at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

Other special awards will be given out at the ceremony, including the guild’s diversity award, which will be presented to Shondaland’s Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers. The Franklin J. Schaffner Award recognizes an associate director or stage manager for their career achievements and service to the DGA, and this year the honoree is Vince DeDario.
